Notice: Residents are prohibited from removing natural wood materials (twigs, branches, trunks, logs and stumps) from the Town of West Boylston regardless of whether or not the materials are infested with the
Asian Longhorned Beetle. Please dispose of your materials in town. All of West Boylston is now in the regulated area.
The Laurel Street Brush Dump has been re-opened.
More information will be coming soon!
Since 1993, Massachusetts has banned the disposal of yard wastes from landfills and incinerators. Yard wastes can no longer be disposed of with your household trash. Grass clippings, garden waste, leaves, trimmings, and small branches and limbs under eight inches in diameter are all considered yard waste.
Your Department of Public Works operates a yard waste composting and recycling site at the Laurel Street Brush Dump. With a free resident sticker, you can drop off your waste at the recycling collection site on specific days, April through November. Please see the schedule below. In January, we will usually have a special opening for the collection of Christmas trees.
We encourage you to consider home composting, as well. You can get information on recycling/composting home yard and food wastes on the Commonwealth's web site.
Please note: the Town of West Boylston does not collect leaves left in the gutter of the street. Raking your leaves into the street for collection will result in the clogging of storm drains and water backups during the next storm. Please compost your leaves at home or bring them to the Laurel Street Composting Site.
Resident Sticker for Recycling/Composting Site
Resident Stickers are free. We require resident stickers to use the Laurel Street Composting Site for disposing of your yard and left waste. You can get your free resident sticker from the office of the Department of Public Works or from the Town Clerk’s Office. Just bring your vehicle registration to the DPW or Town Clerk’s office during regular business hours.
