Individuals that perform electrical work in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts must be licensed.
All licensed person must register with the Town’s Inspectional Services Department and provide a Certificate of Insurance prior to beginning any work. No permits will be given unless there is a currently valid license and Certificate of Insurance on file.
Electrical permit fees include one rough inspection and one final inspection by the Electrical Inspector. If additional inspections are required, they are subject to additional fees.
NOTE: Changes to Electrical Service requires contacting the Municipal Light Plant (MLP). No Electrical Permit will be issued until the MLP is notified.

Re-inspection for Residential, Commercial, Industrial and Institutional
Any re-inspection work for wiring required due to defective work, improper materials, or other contractor related cause, will require a re-inspection fee of $25.00. Re-inspection will take place only after the fee has been paid.
Failure to Obtain Permit
Applicants failing to obtain a permit as required will be subject to an additional permit fee, above and beyond the required fee:
