Planning Board
The Planning Board is an elected board of five members, each with a five-year term.
The Planning Board endeavors to ensure that development in West Boylston reflects the needs, desires and concerns of town residents and complies with applicable laws and regulations.
We have these responsibilities:

Approve all subdivision of land in the Town. |
• |
Issue Special Permits for uses that are specified in Section 3 of the Zoning Bylaws. |
• |
Conduct Site Plan Review for building projects that meet the thresholds listed in Section 3.6 of the Zoning Bylaws. |
• |
Review and make recommendations on all proposed changes to the Zoning Bylaws. |
• |
Adopt a Master Plan for the Town. |
• |
Review and make recommendations to Town Meeting on all proposed Street Acceptance proposals. |
• |
Provide one elected member as one of two Town representatives to Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission. |
• |
Provide one elected member as a representative to the Town Bylaws Committee, Town-wide Planning Committee, Housing Partnership and the Earth Removal Board. |
• |
Review and make recommendations to the Zoning Board of Appeals prior to their issuance of Variances, Special Permits or Comprehensive Permits. |
All Planning Board meetings are open to the public and we invite you to attend and express your opinions on matters before the board. In addition, many of the matters that come before this board require Public Hearings to solicit the comments of members of the public who may be affected. Please watch for Public Hearing notices in the Worcester Telegram and on this web site.
